Party in the streets

Oh happiness! I am slowly slowly slowly finding places in Dallas that make me smile just being in them. Tonight, I am sitting here at Standard and Pours a coffee shop on South Lamar (isn’t that a clever name?) and theres a kick ass band playing 10 feet away from me and I am drinking my coffee and eating a muffin, and it’s very laid back and friendly-feeling, and I’m like “yeah!” And unlike the hipper-than-thou coffee shops in austin this place has comfortable chairs. And it’s only 15 miles from my apartment, which is good for D-town, believe it or not.

Victory for the democrats!! Three cheers for the dems!!!!!!!! Now DEMS DON’T FAIL US NOW!!! And that includes you Nancy Pelosi. I’ve got my eyes on you.

On election night, I heard a man on tv say something like this: for the past 140 years, the majority in congress has changed hands every 14 years- republicans to democrats and back again. And guess what? This year we were due for a change. Its weird when formulas like that work out. Are we the masses, so predictable? Maybe Dick Cheney is right. Maybe congress is a bunch of annoying idiots and the American people are just a dumb heard of sheeple that need to be lied to and pacified so that those in power can protect us from the wolves.

Oh well, for now I'll just be hopeful.

EDIT (11/17/06):

Apparently that every 14 years for the past 140 years was too good to be true! It's not true. I either heard wrong or was lied to. This means that we the masses, are not so predictable and Dick Cheney is definitely wrong.
